Experience:

An emotional and culturally rich experience working with orphaned children at Dorie’s Promise, combined with community project work and memorable day trips. Day trips include a visit to a depressing state orphanage, a stark contrast to the love and warmth of the private, Christian Dorie’s Promise. A day visiting the massive, stifling city dump and slums outside the teeming 2.3M third world metropolis of Guatemala City where you deliver food to dump-dwelling families, share lunch together and experience the unimaginable, shanty towns that surround the dump. You will meet folks that live off the dump and observe the food and merchandise stalls stocked with refuse and food from the dump. A visit to the colonial town of Antiqua for a historical tour and shopping will round out your week. Saturday Travel, settle in to guest house, meet the kids and staff of Dorie’s Promise

Sunday Church, then visit National Park w/kids

Monday Devotions, visit state orphanage, activities w/ kids

Tuesday Devotions, community project, activities w/ kids

Wednesday Devotions, community project, activities w/kids, dinner out

Thursday Devotions, visit Antigua, free time with kids

Friday Devotions, visit city dump, distribute food, going away party

Saturday Farewells to the kids, travel day
